ABOUT ME.
“Photography gives me a reason to look more closely, listen longer and better understand the people and places I encounter.”
I am a Swiss photographer based in Basel. My work focuses on travel, documentary, landscape and environmental portrait photography.
Photography allows me to enter unfamiliar places with curiosity and without a predetermined narrative. Rather than observing from a distance, I spend time with the people I photograph, listen to their stories and try to understand the circumstances that shape their lives. Many of my portraits emerge from these personal encounters rather than from staged situations.
My projects have taken me from the eagle hunters of Western Mongolia and the sulphur miners of East Java to communities in India, Zambia and Tibet, as well as remote landscapes in Iceland and the American West.
Across these different settings, I am drawn to dignity, resilience and the relationship between people and their environment. My background in science and my career in the pharmaceutical industry have shaped the way I approach photography: with curiosity, careful observation and a willingness to question first impressions.
Photography remains a personal exploration of the world and the connections we share. I hope my images encourage viewers to pause, look more closely and discover something beyond the immediately visible.
