Silver Award for • The Migration of the Eagle Hunters •

I was thrilled to learn earlier this month that my editorial • The Migration of the Eagle Hunters • won a Silver Award in the category Travel Editorial of the One Eyeland Photography Awards 2017.

It was adjudged by a jury of 17 eminent artists, the awards this year received over 4000 images from 74 countries.

I took this series in February 2017 in Mongolia where followed a nomadic Kazakh family and their livestock as they made their 150km Spring migration across the Altai Mountains with temperatures as low as -40C (-40F). They move about a thousand animals including yaks, camels, goats and eagles.

This expedition has been one my personal favorites, so I am excited it may find a new audience.

The destination, the nomad family’s spring camp in Tavan Bogd national park, is a place that only a handful of outsiders have seen in the winter months so far. I am particularly pleased as some images of these series found already new homes during my exhibition November 2017.

All of my photos are available as limited fine art prints. Ordering is pretty simple and non-automated, you deal with me directly. Get yours!
